Good News, Everyone! Wizards on the pick-up!

Hey hey everybody!  The print-on-demand AD&D 1e books are back in play!  The Players Handbook has been "repaired" and the Dungeon Masters Guide is undergoing fixes to make it print properly.  Thanks to Steve Wieck  of One Book Shelf for the heads up, courtesy of Benoist Poire!

I'm definitely planning to review the new PoD books, as well, so be on the look out for those.

Irritated With the Latest Nonsense From Wizards of the Coast, "OSR" thoughts

As I stated in earlier 'blog entries, Wizards of the Coast authorized the release of older products on Print on Demand; I was pretty happy about that turn of events.  Now, I figured, I could show people where they could buy old-school stuff - but brand new!  Unlimited amounts of it!  No PDF-only, or having to go with a comb-bound or printed-out copy.  This, I felt, was the great and proper turn of events.
Well, my happiness here has been short-lived.  Inexplicably (and I mean, inexplicable: I have asked three points of contact at Wizards of the Coast about this and gotten nowhere), the Dungeon Masters Guide and Players Handbook have been pulled off of PoD.  The progress of modules being added has slowed to a stop, and there's no indication at all that any original D&D items are or were being put up.
I was going to review (for the long-neglected YouTube channel) a Print on Demand module I'd ordered, but now, I doubt I will: it's not like I can tell folks "Well…

In case anyone was unaware - Delver's Dungeon modules

Yes, my hosting for The Delver's Dungeon expired.  I still own the domain, just don't have a place to keep it anymore, which is why this 'blog is it for the time being.  Anyway, the only thing it seems to have impacted that anyone wanted were the modules I wrote once upon a time, so I'm now putting them here.

That's the permanent home now.  Enjoy!

A Battle to the Death in the Chilling Depths of Space!

So a slightly on-topic update...I know you're all aware of the flood of print-on-demand RPG products for 1e AD&D (and Basic, OD&D, 2e, 3e and so on) available now.  I have a copy of X1 I intend to do a video review of, soon.  As I said on Facebook, I'm getting a hopefully better camera stand together as we speak.  So I'll actually have "in print" 1e AD&D products to talk about again!  Woo!

Sadly I haven't made any further progress on the Demon Idol; I hope to change that in the coming weeks.

What I have gotten work done on in terms of painting are some old-school Terminators for the Space Hulk boardgame...

This particular squad here are likely the first miniatures Mrs. TheDungeonDelver and I ever painted up.  They were mostly done, but not entirely complete (especially not the back-banner detailing).  So I finished them up and mounted them on Secret Weapons Miniatures' "Steel Invasion" resin bases after removing them from the old slo…

I think every 'blog goes through a post like this

Where the host, or person running it, makes a long drawn out explanation of why they haven't updated.  I haven't updated here in over a year; I should do it more often!  I waste too much time on Facebook.  Way, WAY too much time on Facebook.

Anyway.

Yes!  I'm still painting.  I'm still doing videos.  I have much to discuss on the matter of AD&D.  It's coming, please be patient.
